(age 15 years & under on 1st January) to wear body protectors when competing in any jumping class (show jumping, working hunter, clear round, Classes 38 & 39 if a jump is used). It is strongly recommended that body protectors are worn by other age groups, for all classes. JUNIOR riders are NOT ALLOWED to wear SPURS in any class.

The term JUNIOR means all competitors who are aged 15 years & under on 1st January are eligible to compete as a junior until the end of the calendar year.

Bad language will NOT be tolerated on the showfield.

5. The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entries considered to be unsuitable for any class or to expel from the field any person or horse/pony behaving in a manner likely to adversely affect the safety or enjoyment of others.

8. Cruelty to any horse/pony or excessive use of the riding crop/whip and spurs, immediately disqualifies entry.

9. Cantering is not allowed except in the rings. Anyone seen cantering outside the rings/schooling area will be reported to the Stewards and may be sent off the field, forfeiting any entry fees already paid.
10. Once a pony has been entered into a horse class it may not then be re-entered in a pony
class and vice-versa.

11. Measurement may be taken at any time at the Judges’ discretion or the Committee.

16. The Pre-Season Show in April does not count towards points, but prize money will be awarded according to RULE 15.

17. The Committee reserves the right to combine any Classes due to a small number of entries.

18. Show Jumping Ring. Refusals in the show jumping will incur the following penalties:
1st refusal = 4 faults; 2nd refusal = 4 faults and 3rd refusal = elimination. Fall of rider = Elimination. RIDERS ARE NOT ALLOWED to re-mount in the ring under any circumstances. This rule also applies to ALL WORKING HUNTER CLASSES.

19. In JUMPING classes, the term NOVICE applied to HORSE/PONY AND RIDER COMBINATIONS not having won a total of £99. Please note that a novice combination WILL BE or IS de-noviced if total winnings exceed £99 at ANY TIME DURING THE SEASON. It also precludes Rider and Pony/Horse combination having won previous IDRA Championships for that class. All Novice & Intermediate classes will be run as a TWO PHASE competition. The two phases run without interruption, the finishing line for the first phase being identical with the starting line for the second. The first phase is not against the clock and will be a course of 7 to 9 obstacles. The second phase takes place over 4 to 6 obstacles. As the first phase is not timed, should no competitor, or not enough competitors complete phase one to fill the awards, all those with the lowest faults from the first phase will be placed equal. Competitors stopped after the first phase may only be placed after competitors who have taken part in both phases. A competitor who does not complete the first phase is not eligible for an award of qualifying place.

20. Riders must declare to the Collecting Ring Steward BEFORE walking the course. Only those participating in the current class will be permitted in the collecting ring.
